2020: A New Blog

Hello 2020,

It’s a brand-spankin’ new year and although I’m typically not a fan of new years resolutions, something came to me and I decided to get back in the game and explain my long hiatus.

I stopped blogging sometime mid-2018 because I was in my less creative phase. I had such a strong passion for food that led to me blogging so much about it, and then I fell in love with travelling. When I stopped having time to go out and stopped exploring new places and new restaurants, I felt less inspired.

Like many people, I fell into a trap. I enslaved myself in the system, went to “adulting” mode, and forgot how to enjoy myself. I shamefully stopped exploring what I most enjoyed – and it happens to us all.

I want to tell you today that it’s okay to not keep up with something that you were passionately working on. That doesn’t make you a failed writer, a failed entrepreneur, or a failed human being. We all picked up something that we felt so strongly about at a certain point in our lives, but sometimes those feelings are periodic. Or you might be strongly inspired, or suddenly experience a creative boost. Whatever that may be, we all fall into the system, we all have a hiatus in our lives every now and then. At the end of the day, the takeaway would be to not let yourself go. Don’t forget to spend time for yourself and keep making time in your busy life for the stuff that brings peace to your heart and mind.

I’ve recently been inspired to get back in the game with a few new inspirations. Food & travels will always remain my passion for as long as I have a stomach and a heart beating for exploring the unknown.

And now, my blog will soon feature a new section called “Food for Thought” – a series of blog posts where I’ll discuss certain topics that really touch me to heart – the stuff that gets me typing away the night – but that’s not only about food + travels. For those who’ve read some of my past blog posts, you’ll notice that I’ve already written a few of these kinds, but I’d really like to dedicate a space for it and grow it.

My other goal is to post more frequently, and focus less on trying to make them perfect. Trying to do so is one of the reasons why I struggle to actually publish a few of my rough drafts. I hope to publish even really short blogs about life updates that’ll almost feel like “behind-the-scenes” bonus features.

I’m already excited for all the new adventures and posts ahead, but most importantly, my promise to you will always remain the same.

I promise to make you wander with fuller hearts in my stories. I’ll keep you wanderlusting, and wander-lost in food thoughts too.

Here’s to 2020 ❤

Sincerely, Tiny Chef xo
