Hi hungry readers,
I have yet to post some scrumptious pictures of food. But not just yet!
In October, just after our last food truck event, my friends and I went apple picking at the Quinn Farm in Île-Perrôt. It’s a small island right near Montreal. From my home, it’s actually just about a 20-min drive away. So it’s just the perfect place to go for apple picking because of the short distance!
We got really lucky with the weather this year. It was how anyone would imagine it – blue skies, no clouds in sight, and just the sun on a beautiful Fall day … which meant endless amount of trees with yellow, orange, and red leaves. The colours, along with the bold red colour of the apples, made it such a beautiful sighting like the view came right out of a painting.
My friend Chelsea (our squad photographer) brought her camera with her and took such breathtaking snapshots of our squad in our best moments.
I was excited for this year’s apple picking event because it was going to be the first time where I would actually use these apples to make something. In past years, I never had the opportunity because school always got in the way. But finally, I had the freedom of time to look up new recipes and use up whatever apples I was picking that day.
(Spoiler alert: I didn’t end up making anything with the apples 😦 … I didn’t have time and I got a little bit lazy. We mostly used the apples to eat as a snack, so at least they didn’t all go to waste. I guess this is something to look forward to next Fall for apple picking!)
As funny as it sounds, I had a wedding to attend to that very same day. So after apple picking (oh and I did some pumpkin picking too for Halloween!), I rushed home to get ready for the wedding and then head back out.
The squad stayed behind and enjoyed a good lunch at the farm before they headed back home. It was a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend that I had spent with my bestest friends.
I gave each of them a nice Thank You card that day to thank each of their souls for their happy hearts.
My friends deserve every bit of gratitude for the crazy fun year and the dynamic squad that we created together in 2015.
It was Thanksgiving day.
And I’d like to thank you readers too.
For following me through the journey that started at the beginning of last year.
