I’m BACK! It’s 2016 and I’ve been on holiday vacay – actually I didn’t really go anywhere but hell did I do a lot in December!!
Welcome, readers, to 2016! I’m so glad that I managed to keep my blog going through the new year 🙂 It’s the longest I’ve kept something like this going. The last time I left you guys, it was in November and I wrote about our last Food Truck event in October.
Before I left you in hiatus mode, I promised all of you many, many blogs to come. I have so many to write! I just need to get to it!
Over the holidays, I hosted 3 Christmas parties – in which I will write a separate blog about. I cooked, went out to new restaurants, and went on many food excursions worth writing about!
In October after our last food truck event, my regular squad of friends and I planned an Apple Picking day on the sunniest day in October.
We got REAL lucky with the weather for the 3rd year in a row!
But before I leave you off to read my next short blog on Apple Picking, I’d like to write a little something about the New Year and what 2015 meant for me.
It was an important year for me. I cannot be thankful enough to have had the best year of my life so far. I discovered my love and passion for food, pursued my goals of trying out new foods, went out on many foodventures, and traveled the world.
I became more independent, learned to take risks (and love it!), and learned more about the world than I had ever known. I did so many things that I would’ve never expected myself to do in the years before.
I ran the 5K Color Me Rad race for the Leukemia Foundation.
I attended all 6 food truck events in the summer and discovered new foodgasms.
I tried new restaurants with my closest friends.
I graduated from my Graduate Diploma program at Concordia University.
I traveled to Malaga, London, and Paris.
Words cannot describe the year I just had. But none of these events would’ve happened if it weren’t for my best friends who were always there to make these moments priceless.
As the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve down to the last second, I looked ahead to 2016 and hoped that it will be just as great as the previous year and even better.
When I started my 2015, I made promises to myself and achieved them all.
But for 2016, I have no better hope for myself than to pursue all of what I have going and all of what I discovered in 2015. It was such a great year that I hope to experience it all over again in different ways.
I want to learn how to do things, I want to learn more about the world, I want to explore cities and understand cultures. I want to be a responsible citizen of the world. I want to be there for my friends in their need. I want to be a greater person that I can be. I want to learn to love more, and not just love-love. But love that I have for both the smallest things and the biggest.
2016 will be a GREAT year.
I hope to expand my food blog into something bigger – let’s hope I can really work on that!
I hope all of you had a great year too and that you all have a fantastic year ahead.
Cheers to 2016!
